The Boys
Apollo January 31, 2002
Apollo at 6 weeks Apollo at about 9 months Apollo and Dad in their cool shades. This is Apollo our male. He was bought from a Cattle farm where his mom and dad work cows for a living. I bought him for the purpose of being an agility dog but after two years of training a misdiagnosed injury as a twelve week old pup stopped him from competing. He was diagnosed with bursitis on his shoulder due to a hyperextension while playing and we later found out as we were getting him ready for serious competing that the puppy injury was actually a tear of his shoulder muscle and a bone chip. Due to the muscle tear his shoulder sub-luxates (pops half in and out of joint )and his agility career was ended before it even got started. The good part is that this is injury related and is not hereditary. I have had his eyes CERF tested and he passed with flying colors. At least I still have a good male for breeding. Apollo has always been a very easy dog to work with and it appears to have been passed on to his pups.
Bruiser June 13, 2006
Bruiser at 4 months Bruiser at 7 months with Mom & Dad Bruiser relaxing on the deck
Bruiser is our first male out of Ayla and Apollo. He is bigger than his Dad and still needs to fill out. He is starting agility training and is enjoying it so far. He has been a pleasure to train and learns very easily. I will not be considering breeding him until he is over 2 years old and has passed everything. We have now found Sally who will be his mate. Stay tuned for updated pictures and updates on his agility career. Bruiser has passed his advanced level 1 & 2 agility class and is showing a real aptitude for agility and is absolutely loving this sport. Bruiser has just had his eyes checked for CERF and is normal. He also had his hips x-rayed when we thought he tore his ACL and I am happy to say his ACL and his hips are fine. Dodge Diesel April 12, 2007 CBCA #5756 CKC # MSC000004524
Dodge is our newest addition and our hope for the future in our journey into registered Border Collies. He is a Red Merle Tri and the future of our registered stock. In the meantime we will train "Dodge" for a future career in the agility ring and see how he does. He is already proving to be a very smart and easy going little boy. He comes to us from the bustling area of Angusville, MB and we had a wonderful quick 25 hour drive to pick him up. Dodge has just has his eyes checked for CERF and is normal. Dodge had recently become a calendar model on the Oct 18-24 page of the 2010 Dog Gone Day Planner.
