About Us
Hi, my name is Karen. I have probably drove my parents crazy my whole life with my absolute love of almost anything animal. I have had numerous dogs, cats, horses birds, and rodents my entire life and cannot really think of anytime in my life when I have not had a pet. I spent my whole young life learning all I could about animals so that I could be a vet. Although that dream did not turn out I learned lots and spent many hours with all the animals I love. I am also an avid equestrian which is why in a funny way I turned to dog agility and then to Border Collies. Due to an injury from a car accident I was not able to ride as much as I would have liked and someone suggested I try agility. Being as I was a Jumper when riding it was very easy to learn the concept of walking courses and finding your best line to a jump. When I started competing I was running Cujo, a Shitzu/Border Terrier cross. My husband told me I needed Border Collie to be competitive. After lots of insistence he finally convinced me to go look at some puppies at a nearby farm. That is where I found Apollo and the rest is history. Five Borders later I do not know why I did not want them in the first place. I now try to do my best to educate potential buyers about this wonderful breed and enjoy every minute that I get to spend with these lovely pests. I also love how well the Borders seem to get along with my horses. I have now gone back to riding and showing but still find all the time I need to also continue in Agilty with my dogs.
Showing my buddy Blackie Playing with one of our foals Spending time with a couple of my babies
Hello, my name is Lyle and I'm the person behind the camera who takes the pictures of the puppies. And gets mauled by a gang of Borders. I grew up in Viking, AB. Growing up in a small town I had a Golden Lab as a protector and a best friend in my young years. His name was Pal and that he was. He could take a toque off a kid's head without touching the kid. (But hated the Gas Man). We spent a lot of time together. I always had a love of dogs of most breeds and even most recently got a love for Dobes. Even though a couple often chased me when I was young. As for the Border Collies I find them willing to please and do their best to work for you. Our puppies are socialized with various situations before they're off to their new homes. We encourage group playing, this tells a lot of the personality of the pups and the special time on the couch away from the rest of the litter develops a bond in the aspect of human bonding. As for what I'm looking for in a new owner? Well a loving home that the dog will be loved, and kept active because a Border can be a great couch potato, but in all fairness to the dog they need to do something whether it is just a walk or a sport like agility or fly ball. So thanks for your time and if you have any questions about our Borders feel free to drop us a line or an email and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
